World Youth and Teenage Speech Competition -Season 3

World Youth and Teenage Speech Competition -Season 3 consists of three core modules: Basic Speech Performance Skills, which covers fluency of language expression and emotional control, proficiency in the use of speech props, basic speech techniques (such as plot development in narrative speeches, logical argumentation in argumentative speeches, and emotional rendering in lyrical speeches), as well as cognition of speech styles (such as the rigorous interpretation of academic speeches, the vivid presentation of story-telling speeches, and the empathetic expression of public welfare speeches); Speech Culture and Creation Principles, including the historical origins of speech forms (such as works of TED Talks, thematic debates, and campus morning assembly speeches), speech symbols in ethnic cultures (such as the use of allusions in speeches on traditional Chinese culture, and the characteristics of logical thinking in Western speeches), and the impact of contemporary trends on the evolution of speech styles; Practical Application of Speeches, including the thematic interpretation of speech works, impromptu expression (such as completing quick speech conception based on the on-site given theme), and conveying concepts through speeches in real-life scenarios (such as conveying the concept of caring for others or showcasing ethnic cultural characteristics through public welfare speeches). The competition sets up a variety of speech competition categories and customizes difficulty levels according to age and experience. The Children's Group focuses on basic skills (such as completing simple thematic speeches and mastering basic language rhythm), while the Youth Group emphasizes creative expression (such as developing a unique speech style), work interpretation (such as exploring the in-depth connotation of a work through speech details), and the ability to solve problems through speech creation (such as selecting appropriate speech forms and expression methods to convey specific viewpoints or needs).

Submission Format & Requirements
Platform: Upload high-quality digital speech files through the official competition platform (link provided after registration).
Entry Requirements:
Submit original speech works (including narrative speeches, argumentative speeches, lyrical speeches, impromptu speeches, etc.). Only basic editing operations such as duration adjustment and volume calibration are allowed; excessive post-production packaging (e.g., adding irrelevant special effects, replacing original audio) or content splicing is prohibited, and AI-generated speech content is not permitted to ensure the originality and authenticity of the work.
File Quality Specifications: The video file resolution shall not be lower than 1080P, the frame rate shall not be lower than 25 frames per second, and the audio sampling rate shall not be lower than 44.1kHz. The file must be submitted in standard formats (e.g., MP4, MOV, AVI) to ensure clear presentation of speech details (such as clarity of language expression, integrity of body movements, and appeal of facial expressions).
Presentation Method: Works must comply with the presentation standards corresponding to their speech category (e.g., narrative speeches shall fully present the beginning, development, and ending of the story with coherent logic; argumentative speeches shall clearly present arguments, evidence, and conclusions with rigorous reasoning; lyrical speeches shall convey true emotions with natural emotional progression; impromptu speeches shall indicate preparation time and on-site expression status). For thematic series speeches or complex speech works, a speech script (if available) or creative concept document (including theme analysis and structure design) shall be attached to assist judges in understanding the speech logic.
Equipment/Tools: Speech works shall be recorded using stable shooting equipment (e.g., high-definition cameras, mobile phones with tripods) and audio recording equipment (e.g., lavalier microphones, desktop microphones) to ensure the video is stable without obvious shaking and the audio is free from noise and echo. The shooting scene shall be simple and tidy to avoid irrelevant personnel or debris from entering the frame, and the speaker's whole body or upper body shall be fully presented to ensure body movements and facial expressions are clearly visible. For impromptu speech works, the preparation process (e.g., draft writing clips) shall be recorded and submitted as auxiliary materials to prove the authenticity of the creation.

Jury Evaluation & Integrity Rules
Judging Panel: Composed of international speakers, language education experts, university tutors specializing in speech and eloquence, and senior media commentators.
Technical Ability (50%): Precision of speech expression (e.g., fluency of language, standardization of pronunciation, control over rhythm), proficiency in using auxiliary elements (e.g., rationality of prop display, adaptability of PPT content), and mastery of speech style-specific techniques (e.g., detail description ability in narrative speeches, logical argumentation ability in argumentative speeches, emotional transmission ability in lyrical speeches).
Artistic Expression (30%): Ability to interpret the speech theme (e.g., in-depth exploration of themes such as environmental protection and cultural inheritance), uniqueness of creative conception (e.g., novelty of speech perspective, innovation of structure design), appeal of language expression (e.g., appropriate use of rhetorical devices, effect of creating emotional resonance), and effectiveness in conveying viewpoints or values through speech.
Communication Effect(20%): Attractiveness of speech content (e.g., engaging opening, sense of resonance in content), adaptability of form to content (e.g., matching degree of speech style to theme), practical value (e.g., practical significance of viewpoints, inspirational effect on the audience), and integrity of speech structure (e.g., logical closure of opening with theme presentation, main body development, and concluding elevation).
Integrity Policy:
Plagiarism of existing speech works (including direct reproduction of classic speeches, others' original speech content, or commercial speech materials) is prohibited. Theft of others' speech ideas, core viewpoints, or unique expressions is not allowed, nor is having others deliver the speech on one's behalf or using AI to generate speech audio/videos. If a work is verified to involve plagiarism, cheating, or fraud, the participant's qualification will be immediately revoked, and the relevant situation will be publicly announced.
Submissions found plagiarized or fraudulent will be disqualified.

Competition Rules
Submission Limit: One entry per participant.
Entry Specifications:
Children’s Group: Works shall be consistent with the participants' age-related cognition and expression ability, focusing on basic speeches (e.g., short-duration narrative speeches, simple thematic lyrical speeches), including adapted speeches of classic children's stories (e.g., personalized storytelling of The Tortoise and the Hare and Little Red Riding Hood), basic expression exercises (e.g., self-introduction, campus life sharing), and simple original speeches (including theme conception and basic language design, no complex rhetoric or in-depth argumentation required). The recommended speech duration is 3–5 minutes.
Youth Group: Works shall have a certain degree of complexity and ideological depth (e.g., complete argumentative speeches, thematic series speeches, in-depth public welfare speeches), including in-depth interpretation of classic speeches (e.g., modern context interpretation of The Youth's China, personalized reconstruction of celebrity inspirational speeches), thematic creation (e.g., "Balance between Technology and Humanity", "Social Responsibility of Youth" series speeches), integration of diverse forms (e.g., combining speech with situational performance, cross-cultural thematic speeches), and conceptual speeches (e.g., exploring social issues such as "online information literacy" and "cultural confidence" through speeches). The recommended speech duration is 5–8 minutes.
Tools & Materials: Only standard auxiliary tools appropriate for the speech category may be used (e.g., simple props for narrative speeches, PPT courseware for argumentative speeches, soft background music for lyrical speeches). Excessive reliance on pre-made materials (e.g., reciting commercial speech templates, extensively quoting others' famous sayings) or third-party assistance (e.g., post-production packaging by professional teams, others writing the speech script on one's behalf) is prohibited. This ensures works reflect the participants' own expression ability and creative ideas, and maintains the fairness of the competition.
