Award winners can request customized awards featuring the participant's name in Chinese or English.

The deadline for award applications is two weeks after the announcement of the results.

All awards will be mailed within eight weeks after the application deadline.

Awards and certificates will be sent via SF Express, cash on delivery.

Once the awards are signed for, no replacements will be issued in case of damage or loss.

The organizers are not responsible for failed deliveries due to incorrect information or communication difficulties.

Competition Guidelines:

 

1. Competition Categories
Participants may self-select their competition tier based on question difficulty groupings.

2. Registration & Timing

• Complete registration and submit your exam before the stated deadline.

• A confirmation email will be sent upon registration.

• Access the competition portal at any time before the deadline to complete the exam.

3. Exam Format

• Platform: Online, with multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, or short-answer questions.

• Device: Computers are recommended; mobile devices are permitted but may limit functionality.

• Integrity Rules:

  • Strictly adhere to the academic honesty pledge.

  • Switching screens, impersonation, or external assistance is prohibited.

4. Competition Rules

• Duration: 30–45 minutes (varies by category). Answers auto-submit when time expires.

• Attempts: One submission per participant.

• Strategy: Prioritize familiar questions first. Unanswered items may be revisited until time ends.

• Tools: Calculators are permitted.

5. Content & Expectations
Questions assess both foundational knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills.

6. Results & Rankings

• School rankings will be calculated using participant-provided data.

• To ensure fairness, answers and results will not be released immediately post-competition.

• Final rankings will be:

  • Emailed/WhatsApp messaged to registered contacts.

  • Published on the official website and social media.

Entry Requirements：

1. Basic Chinese Knowledge

This module focuses on core Chinese concepts, including the basic context and evolution of Chinese language and literature (such as the literary prosperity in the Tang and Song dynasties, the development of modern Chinese prose, and the inheritance of contemporary children's literature), important Chinese classics and appreciation methods (such as the literary value of The Analects and Dream of the Red Chamber, as well as the basic principles of literary work interpretation), and the core characteristics of Chinese language units (such as the system of Chinese characters, the rules of syntax and rhetoric, and the styles of different literary genres). It systematically assesses the basic framework of Chinese studies, covering the evolution of Chinese characters and phonetics throughout history, the development of literary genres (such as the formation of Tang poetry and Song ci, the evolution of classical Chinese and modern Chinese), the relationship between Chinese application and social cultural life, as well as the meanings and applications of Chinese terms (such as "metaphor", "parallelism", "classical Chinese", "literary sketch"). The content encompasses the stylistic characteristics of different Chinese fields and their manifestations in language expression, helping to deeply understand the basic classification laws of Chinese phenomena, the operation principles of Chinese rules, and Chinese diversity—including the constituent elements of literary works, the evolutionary trajectory of Chinese development, and an overview of major Chinese fields (such as Chinese philology, literary appreciation, practical writing, oral expression).

 

2. Historical Phenomena and Theoretical Principles

This module explores the causes, evolutionary mechanisms, and far-reaching impacts of Chinese phenomena, such as the core incentives for the evolution of Chinese characters and language, the driving factors and spread effects of classic literary trends (such as the formation of the Hundred Schools of Thought's literary ideas, the popularity of modern vernacular literature), and the operational logic of language communication and cultural inheritance (such as the integration of dialects and mandarin, the inheritance and innovation of traditional literary forms). It analyzes the operation and adaptation principles of Chinese contexts (such as the interaction laws between literary creation and social reality, the expression mechanisms of language in different scenarios) and core Chinese theories (such as the principle of language standardization and normalization, the comparative method of similarity and difference in literary genre research). It conducts in-depth study of the interrelationships between Chinese philology, literary creation, practical application, and oral expression fields, the driving factors of Chinese development changes (such as the impact of technological progress on language expression forms, the influence of cultural exchange on literary creation styles), as well as the inherent laws of Chinese phenomena (such as the periodicity of literary trend updates, the evolutionary cycle of language expression methods). It also explores the role of human practice in Chinese development (such as the impact of writers' creative concepts on literary works, the promotion of the times by the popularization of standardized language).

 

3. Historical Practice and Application

This module strengthens practical Chinese skills, including the use of common Chinese tools (such as reading classic literary works and extracting core ideas, interpreting the connotation of literary language, and analyzing methods of text structure) and the handling of basic Chinese tasks (such as literary work appreciation and comment writing, Chinese data collation [e.g., sorting out the evolution of classic literary works], and compiling simple Chinese knowledge frameworks). Through case analysis simulating real Chinese application scenarios, it guides participants to interpret Chinese materials (such as classic literary excerpts, daily communication dialogues, practical writing samples), evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of language expression in specific contexts (such as the appropriateness of language in different communication scenarios, the rationality of literary work structure), and formulate reasonable expression plans for specific Chinese contexts (such as simulating the creation of practical articles in daily life, simulating the design of literary appreciation schemes for classic works). It initially applies Chinese research methods to conduct simple Chinese analysis, such as comparing similarities and differences between different literary works, estimating the influence scope of literary trends, and comparing similar Chinese phenomena in different periods (such as the evolutionary comparison of practical writing formats in different eras).

 

4、Question Types and Difficulty Levels

The competition features diverse question types, including multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, short-answer questions, essay questions, and Chinese expression design questions (such as practical writing creation in simulated scenarios). The difficulty level is adjusted according to participants' age and knowledge reserves: the Children's Group focuses on the memory and simple application of basic Chinese knowledge, while the Youth Group emphasizes in-depth understanding of Chinese theories and the ability to solve complex Chinese problems.​
