2026 World Youth and Teenage English Proficiency Olympiad - Season 1 comprises three core modules: foundational English language knowledge, including core English phonetics & vocabulary content, basic grammatical & syntactic rules, and classic English literary works & representative Anglophone cultural symbols; English literacy and critical thinking cultivation, covering the evolution of reading comprehension and expression methods, the integration of English literary works with cross-cultural contexts, and the deduction and application of logical communication rules; practical English language application, involving the proficient use of common English communication tools, simulated analysis of real-world cross-cultural exchange scenarios, and daily-life & academic application of English language and cultural knowledge. The Olympiad has diverse question types with difficulty tiered by participants' age and English proficiency reserves. The lower age group focuses on foundational English language mastery and basic communication skills, while the upper age group emphasizes English literacy application and comprehensive cross-cultural communication abilities.

Individual Awards:

  • Special Gold Award (Top 12% of participants in the group)

  • Gold Award (Top 12%-25% of participants in the group)

  • Silver Award (Top 26%-45% of participants in the group)

  • Bronze Award (Top 46%-60% of participants in the group)

  • Excellence Award (Top 61%-100% of participants in the group)

 

Group Awards:

  • Outstanding Group Award

  • Outstanding Mentor Award

Category:

Participants select the corresponding tier independently based on question difficulty.

Registration:

Complete registration by the deadline and finish the exam within the specified time via the exam link(The exam link will be sent via WhatsApp/Email.); a confirmation email will be sent upon successful registration.

Format:

Online exam with multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank and short-answer questions. Computers are recommended; mobile devices are permitted with limited functionality. Strictly abide by academic integrity; screen switching, impersonation and external assistance are prohibited.

Rules:

Exam duration is 30-45 minutes (tier-dependent). Answers auto-submit on timeout and only one submission is allowed per participant.

Content:

Assesses foundational knowledge and advanced problem-solving abilities.

Results:

For fairness, results are not released immediately. Final rankings will be notified via email/WhatsApp and published on the association's official website.

Exam Scope:

  1. Foundational English Language Cognition
    Assesses core knowledge of English phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, as well as the application of classic English literary works and key cultural references from English-speaking countries in language comprehension and expression.
     

  2. English Language Patterns and Cross-Cultural Principles
    Explores fundamental principles of English expressive logic, models for literary text analysis, and critical thinking strategies; analyzes how linguistic and cross-cultural theories are adapted across diverse communication contexts.
     

  3. Practical English Application
    Evaluates practical skills in using common English communication tools and managing basic language tasks; assesses the ability to interpret literary texts, evaluate communicative effectiveness, develop cross-cultural exchange strategies based on real-world scenarios, and conduct basic linguistic and cultural analysis.
     

  4. Question Types & Difficulty Levels
    Diverse question types include multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, reading comprehension, and short-answer questions. Difficulty is tiered by age: the foundational level emphasizes memorization and simple language application, while the advanced level focuses on in-depth linguistic and cross-cultural understanding, complex text analysis, and comprehensive communication skills.

The deadline for award applications is two weeks after the announcement of the results.

All awards will be mailed within eight weeks after the application deadline.

Awards and certificates will be sent via SF Express

For participants in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the shipping fee for the awards ranges from approximately HKD$30 to HKD$80. The shipping fee will be paid by you to the logistics company upon receipt of the goods.

For participants in all other regions, shipping is prepaid, and the shipping fee will be collected together with the award fee.

All losses caused by incorrect recipient information or the recipient's own reasons (refusal of acceptance, failure to answer calls promptly, etc.) shall be borne by the recipient.
