The 2026 World Youth and Teenage Music Contest – Season 1 is structured around three core modules designed to systematically cultivate young participants’ comprehensive musical literacy. It strengthens foundational skills in rhythm, pitch, and timbre control, and helps students develop proficiency in applying a wide range of vocal and instrumental performance techniques.
The contest also introduces diverse musical traditions from around the world, guiding participants to explore the history and characteristics of various genres and artistic forms, and fostering a deep understanding of the principles underlying musical creation and performance.
Finally, it bridges music with everyday life and creativity—training students in thematic interpretation and auditory artistry, nurturing artistic sensitivity and innovative thinking, and empowering youth to use music as a medium to document life, express perspectives, and convey emotions and ideas. Through this holistic approach, the contest aims to enhance participants’ artistic practice and creative expression.
