世界青少年兒童聖誕繪畫大賽 -第三季-1.png

World Youth and Teenage Christmas Painting Competition -Season 3 consists of three core modules: Basic Painting Performance Skills, which covers color matching and line control, proficiency in the use of painting tools, basic painting techniques (such as the blending effect of watercolor painting, the color overlay technique of oil pastels, the flat coloring method of markers), as well as cognition of painting styles (such as the detailed restoration of Christmas scenes in realistic style, the interesting presentation of Christmas elements in cartoon style, the emotional expression of Christmas atmosphere in abstract style); Painting Culture and Creation Principles, including the historical origins of Christmas-themed painting forms (such as classical Christmas oil paintings, folk Christmas illustrations, modern Christmas digital painting works), Christmas symbols in different cultures (such as auroras and reindeer in Nordic Christmas paintings, traditional cultural integration elements in Chinese-style Christmas paintings, fireplaces and Christmas trees in European and American Christmas paintings), and the impact of contemporary trends on the evolution of Christmas painting styles; Practical Application of Painting, including the thematic interpretation of Christmas painting works, improvisational creation, and conveying concepts through paintings in real-life scenarios (such as conveying the concept of caring for vulnerable groups or showcasing the integration characteristics of local culture and Christmas culture through Christmas paintings). The competition sets up a variety of Christmas painting competition categories and customizes difficulty levels according to age and experience. The Children's Group focuses on basic skills, while the Youth Group emphasizes creative expression (such as developing a unique Christmas painting style), work interpretation, and the ability to solve problems through painting creation (such as selecting appropriate painting forms and creative methods to convey specific emotions or the connotation of Christmas themes).

Competition Guidelines:

  1. Competition Categories

Participants can self-select their competition tier based on age and skill level (e.g., Children’s Group: 6–12 years; Youth Group: 13–18 years).

  1. Registration & Timing

Registration Deadline: Complete registration and submit your artwork (via digital upload) before [specific deadline, e.g., "11:59 PM UTC on October 31, 2025"].

Confirmation: A registration confirmation email will be sent to your provided address.

Submission Window: You can enter the competition platform and upload your  Christmas painting works at any time before the deadline.

  1. Submission Format & Requirements

Platform: Upload high-definition digital files through the official competition platform (link provided after registration).

Entry Requirements:

Submit original Christmas painting works (including realistic Christmas paintings, cartoon Christmas illustrations, abstract Christmas creations, digital Christmas designs, etc.). Only basic editing operations such as resolution adjustment and image cropping are allowed; excessive post-production compositing (e.g., adding irrelevant Christmas elements, modifying original painting strokes) or material splicing is prohibited, and AI-generated painting content is not permitted to ensure the originality and authenticity of the work.

File Quality Specifications: For image-based works, the resolution shall not be lower than 300 dpi, and the size shall not be smaller than A4 (210mm×297mm); for digital painting works, source files (in formats such as PSD and Procreate) and high-definition preview images (in JPG/PNG format) must be provided to ensure clear presentation of Christmas element details (e.g., natural color transitions, smooth lines, layering of Christmas scenes). All files shall be submitted in standard formats (e.g., JPG, PNG, PDF) to avoid issues with viewing the works due to format problems.

Presentation Method: Works must comply with the presentation standards corresponding to their Christmas painting category (e.g., realistic Christmas paintings shall fully display details of Christmas scenes, avoiding cropping of key elements; cartoon Christmas illustrations shall maintain the integrity of character images and the consistency of Christmas atmosphere; abstract Christmas creations shall clearly convey the thematic mood; digital Christmas designs shall provide source files and preview images that can be opened normally). For series of Christmas paintings or complex creations, a creation explanation document (including Christmas theme analysis and element design ideas) shall be attached to assist judges in understanding the painting logic.

Equipment/Tools: Christmas painting works shall be created using professional tools that meet the requirements of the category (e.g., professional pigments and watercolor paper for watercolor paintings; high-quality crayons and sketch paper for oil pastels; Procreate/Photoshop software and drawing tablets for digital paintings). When submitting, ensure files are undamaged and can be opened and viewed normally; hand-drawn works must be scanned or photographed into high-definition digital files to avoid glare, blurriness, or obstruction on the image, and fully present the painting's colors, lines, and details of Christmas elements; digital works must ensure the integrity of layers (if any) to facilitate judges in reviewing the creation process.

  1. Jury Evaluation & Integrity Rules

Judging Panel: The jury consists of international illustrators, art education experts, Christmas-themed art creators, and university fine arts tutors.

Artistic Expression (30%): Ability to interpret the Christmas theme (e.g., presentation effect of Christmas atmospheres such as warmth and magic), uniqueness of creative conception (e.g., innovation in the combination of Christmas elements, novelty of painting perspective), effectiveness of emotional transmission (e.g., conveying holiday warmth through colors and composition, evoking audience resonance through character design), and the compatibility between painting language and the Christmas theme.

Visual Effect (20%): Appeal of the work (e.g., color impact, compositional layering), adaptability of form to content (e.g., matching degree of painting style to the Christmas theme), appeal of the holiday atmosphere (e.g., expressiveness of Christmas elements, creation of overall holiday atmosphere in the image), and integrity of the work structure (e.g., logical connection of series works, detailed closure of individual works).

Entry Requirements for the World Youth and Teenage Christmas Painting Competition -Season 3 (Online Submission & Jury Evaluation)

  1. Basic Painting Skills

Focus on technical foundations and painting structure:

Technical Skills: Color mixing ability, control over painting tools, precision in executing details on the canvas, and Christmas theme-specific painting techniques (such as the blending transition of Christmas snow scenes in watercolor painting, the layered color effect of Christmas red in oil pastels, the line drawing of Christmas decorations in marker painting, and the gradient processing of Christmas light and shadow in digital painting).

Theme Cognition: Familiarity with Christmas painting competition categories (realistic Christmas painting, cartoon Christmas illustration, abstract Christmas creation, digital Christmas design) and classic works/styles (such as the warm atmosphere exhibited in the classical Christmas oil painting Christmas Eve, the childlike style presented in Disney Christmas illustrations, the minimalist ice and snow mood in Nordic Christmas paintings, and the traditional cultural integration characteristics in Chinese-style Christmas paintings).

Painting Literacy: Understanding of professional Christmas painting knowledge (such as the principle of color matching for Christmas themes, the logic of composition and Christmas element layout), creative forms (such as single Christmas scene painting, series of Christmas story illustrations, Christmas-themed decorative paintings), and style recognition (such as matching creative techniques to painting types: precise restoration of Christmas details in realistic style, exaggerated shaping of Christmas characters in cartoon style, emotional expression of Christmas atmosphere in abstract style).

Explore theme interpretation and historical depth:

Category Analysis: The origins and stylistic characteristics of Christmas painting forms (such as the religious origin of European classical Christmas oil paintings, the folk custom attribute of folk Christmas illustrations, the technological evolution of modern digital Christmas paintings, and the national artistic traits of Christmas paintings in different countries).
